New CFO Anouk de Jong: ‘Strategic thinking is the common thread in my career’

CHDR's first CFO is also the organisation's first female board member. She joined CHDR after spending many years abroad.

‘After 16 happy years of living and working in New Zealand, I felt it was time for something new,’ says De Jong. ‘And then this opportunity came along.’ For De Jong, this meant not only returning to the Netherlands but also reconnecting with her original field of interest.

In 1997, she earned a Master of Science degree in Health Policy and Management at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. She started her career in the healthcare sector before joining PwC as a Management Consultant in 2001, where she led the Strategy Consultants in the Healthcare group.

After obtaining an Executive Master of Business Administration, she moved to New Zealand in 2007, where she held a variety of positions, first with PwC and later within various government departments.

'The common thread in everything I have done so far is strategy. That’s what I enjoy at CHDR as well: the challenge of keeping an eye on the big picture in a growing organisation within a highly dynamic sector. And I feel completely at home here. It is an honour to be CHDR’s first female board member.'
